Volunteering

Volunteering your time and skills in Mwandi will benefit both the community and yourself. Immersing yourself in a foreign culture will inevitably change one or two things about who you are. Seeing life through the eyes of an orphaned child is a valuable life lesson in what is truly important. Volunteering is not necessarily about what you can give, so if you think you have nothing to offer then you are probably a prime candidate! The gift of time and love is often appreciated more than any material gift or skill that you may possess. Listening to the stories, the struggles, the successes and joys of this community will teach you more about life and love than you may have thought possible. Take time to read the stories on this page from previous volunteers.

How To Volunteer

Anyone who is willing to give of themselves is welcome in Mwandi. Specific skill areas required include teachers, social workers, builders, chaplains and engineers... although there is literally a job for anyone who is willing to put up their hand. If you would like to volunteer with the Mwandi UCZ OVC Project, please contact the project co-ordinator, Fiona Dixon-Thompson uczovc@gmail.com.
